A short history of DEVOX
Way back in 1989 Devox then known as Powertill developed custom software for clients. As the web was bare and without systems. We fulfilled this task and developed amazing software that we did not even know will become mainstream.
For example we created email for construction companies dealing with SAFCEC before there even was email or an internet. We developed a gsm switch, when cellphones was still dumb. etc.
And so the list goes on. We even developed what was later on called a block chain for cellphone cards. But most important we developed software for clients who needed software to streamline their business, cash and stock control. We wrote one of the first Point of Sale (or cash register software in South Africa)
We did work for all kind of industries like construction companies, doctors, restaurants, in fact if you needed software our company could deliver complex systems.
We even developed 2 commercial systems namely Lollyopos Point of Sale and the Superpay Payroll system
Both these systems are still operational and extremely advanced and sophisticated and stood the test of time from DOS 3.3 to the latest Win11.
With the rapid growth of the internet our services was eventually replaced by more corporate and stock exchange type developers.
