The marketing message only has one goal: To get the target market to take action to buy the product or service that you offer.
To prepare such a marketing message is called copy writing. There is a whole science to copy writing. You cannot bluntly force someone do deal with you and to part with their money. (Unless you are a hijacker or mugger)
- Your first job is to let the prospect know that you have exactly what they need to make their life better, easier or more fun.
- You need to let your prospect know that you are unique and different to the other suppliers out there.
- You will teach them that you are trustworthy, and an authority in your line of business.
- You need to tell them why they will really score if they deal with you.
- By gentle nudging and persuasion you need to create an intense desire in them for your product.
You will show them that there is quite a demand for what you have to offer, and that this demand is making the product scarce. They will then eagerly want to buy the answer to their need or problem instead of you selling it to them. If you offer a guarantee, give them peace of mind to remove the last bit of resistance. And finally you take them by the hand and tell them exactly what they must do to get what they now want so badly.
Your marketing message needs personality, style and energy. That I cannot teach you. Your personality and your energy will be used for that. I guess what I’m trying to tell you is that you don’t normally speak cold, impersonal and informal. Therefore when you prepare your marketing message, put some of your character and energy into it. Just follow the basic rules and colour it with your style. You will win, succeed and lots of clients will buy mega loads of what you have to offer.
When you study when and why people buy, you will find out that people prefer to buy from those they like. So make sure they like you. Portray this in your message.
And lastly, but very important. People won’t read if they are not interested in your product or service. But google reads everything. And If a client is interested in a product or service, they will read your long copy. Don’t under estimate the power of words.
